Bradbury Mountain State Park

One of Maine's five original state parks, Bradbury Mountain State Park is a beautiful place to enjoy a variety of summer activities such as hiking, horseback-riding and mountain biking. During the winter, the area is a fun location for snowmobiling.

Hiking

There are several hiking trails within Bradbury Mountain State Park. Ranging from simple, flat paths to complex, rocky shears and everything in between, this park boasts a trail for hikers of all skill levels. The most popular trail ends atop Bradbury Mountain; hikers need only travel a short distance to reach the top of the 500-foot tall mountain and enjoy the beautiful panorama it affords.

Birdwatching

Bradbury Mountain State Park is a popular gathering point from March to May for visitors wishing to catch a glimpse of the annual hawk migration. Over 2,000 hawks a year partake in the journey, providing viewers with the perfect opportunity to pull out binoculars and watch as these magnificent creatures take flight.

Mountain biking

With many paths that consist of flat or gently-rolling terrain, Bradbury Mountain State Park is a popular destination for those who take pleasure in pedaling long and hard on a mountain bike. Riders are treated to marvelous views of trees and foliage that make for a ride as beautiful as it is rewarding.

Horseback-riding and snowmobiling

During the summer months, guests can travel by horseback along paths that are especially created for this purpose. When the weather gets colder and snow is on the ground, these paths are used for snowmobiling and skiing.
