Range Ponds State Park

Maine is known for lobster, chowder and its beautiful scenery. Being so far up North, people may forget that there is still a great deal to do when it is sunny and warm. Range Ponds State Park is a great place to experience the spring and summer months in Maine. You can take the whole family and spend the day or enjoy an extended stay.
The park
Range Ponds park is located in Poland, Maine, which is home to the original Poland Springs. Range Pond is a beautiful body of water that has a long stretch of over 1000 feet of beach for all to enjoy. Off of the beach is the forest portion of the park with miles and miles of hiking trails, picnic areas and campgrounds.
Recreational use of the park
This park provides enough to do for your whole family, and the variety of activities ensures that everyone has something that they like. If you love the water, this pond is a great place to go swimming, with lifeguards on duty during all park hours. If you want to try your hand at fishing, take advantage of the boat rentals available. If you enjoy the wilderness, you can go on a beautiful hike on one of many trails leading through the park. There are also two playgrounds and a baseball field for the kids to have fun. If none of this appeals to you, then you can head to the nearby Poland Spring Museum.
