Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park is just a 5-minute drive from Freeport’s busy shopping district, but a world away as marshes and open fields invite visitors to revel in the natural beauty of coastal Maine.
A walk in the park
Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park is 233 acres wholly dedicated to nature appreciation. The park features interpretive signs on dedicated trails, as well as guided programs for both groups and the general public. Privately owned until 1969, the land which the park now sits on was generously donated to the state and this scenic sanctuary was created.
